I was in town a few weeks ago and drove by the old neighborhood. John Finnman lived on Ridgewood when we attended Loveland School. He lived in a very contempoary house just East of the Durhams. The house is still there.
John was the first in the neighborhood to have a Televison and we would go over to his house to watch The Howdy Doody Show. I remember the Seltzer Bottle that Clarabelle the Clown used to squirt people. Captain Video and his Video Rangers followed. What an amazing program, so futuristic with the jet airplanes, rocket ships and space weapons. Clearly, at that age we could not appreciate a weapon used against the 'bad guys' called 'The Cosmic Vibrator.' Both programs are on YouTube.
John moved and we lost track of one another at Westside. I saw John at his business one day when I was in cruiser and we talked but not long enough. It's times like this that I wish I would have spent more time with old friends.
