Early Days in Omaha

Those of us who grew up in Omaha had access to television as a companion by the time we were just six or seven years old, and the shows we watched as children and young adults almost certainly helped shape the adults we became.

The Nebraska Educational Television network (NET) did a retrospective about the early days of tv in our state:

Among the pioneers of the medium in our area was, most famously, Johnny Carson. The program in this video was aired by the local NBC affiliate, WOWT, the same night Carson retired from the Tonight Show. Unfortunately, there are commercials and both the audio and visual are fuzzy. Still, it's pretty interesting to those of us who remember the time:
